fuck you, 7Up

I’ve been drinking diet 7up for a while now, since however long it’s been that they changed their formula to Splenda from that horrid Aspartame. Well, I sent Preston to Kroger for a carton Friday night on his way home from work, and he called from a pay phone to ask what the box looked like because he thought something was wrong. Turns out, they’d changed their formula back to Aspartame. So, I came online, went to their website, and sent them a note:

Has Diet 7up changed its formula and gone back to Aspartame instead of Splenda? I really love Diet 7up. Aside from Diet Rite, it’s the only diet soda I’m able to drink. Aspartame and I don’t get along – Splenda foots the diet bill very nicely! I’d really hate to know that Diet 7up has switched back to its old Aspartame formula. If so, you’ve lost a customer.

To my surprise, they wrote me back this afternoon:

Dear Ms. Adkins,

Thank you for contacting us about 7UP. Your comments and inquiries are appreciated because they provide valuable feedback about our brands.

Reformulated Diet 7UP has the great 7UP taste that consumers know and love, but with even more lemon lime taste. It has the optimal blend of lemon lime flavors and the sweetness that our consumers desire. Yes, the formula will contain a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K) rather than a blend of sucralose (Splenda brand) and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K).

I sent them back basically a fuck-you-very-much-7up note and let them know since they’ve changed to Aspartame, I’m no longer a 7up customer. :smash: :soap:
