Seems like last week and this week are the Times of Blogging about the Nature of Blogging.
HPS_Sterling posted this My words have been twisted and used against me by people I thought I could trust and so I don’t feel like I can use any online blogs as safe space in response to this post by TheFerrett.
The following is my response to her:
Yes. This is why I don’t blog about my divorce, the fact that I was (they’re over 18 now) a non-custodial parent, and my relationship with Preston, or speak much about my religion. I also stopped blogging and even speaking in real life about being a full-time homemaker. Neither do I blog about my childhood nor my parents nor much of my blood family nor my high school or college day no my hometown. I don’t even talk about my oldest son’s kidney disease/transplant as much as I used to.
I’ve been rethinking this over the last month, though. I mean, I own my own domain. It’s my personal space. And I figure if people can’t deal with the things I talk about, they don’t have to be reading it. They can go elsewhere. I even put up a quote on my sidebar as motivation:
It takes more energy to stay quiet than it does to speak your mind – Day of the Dead
Hal posted on his blog this morning:
May those who love us, love us.
And those who don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn’t turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping.
